About the Ruby Octopus (Octopus rubescens)
The Ruby Octopus, more formally known as the East Pacific Red Octopus (Octopus rubescens), is a common shallow-water species along the North American West Coast—ranging from the Gulf of California to the Gulf of Alaska. It’s a nocturnal hunter of crustaceans, fish, and mollusks, retreating to dens to feed in the dark. Like its cephalopod kin, it can change color and texture to camouflage against rocks, turning shades of white, gray, and vanish without a trace as needed.

Mission-Driven Art
OctoNation merchandise fuses creativity, education, and conservation. By hanging this piece, you're not only adding a whimsical marine-inspired print to your space—you’re also helping to share the captivating world of octopuses with more people globally.
